Our repository developer, Ian, has been building our new stats dashboard for @kcommons.bsky.social. It's looking great! And should be upstreamed to InvenioRDM.

Today's peek inside the @kcommons.bsky.social tech lab: whenever we change the site, we have a set of automated tests that run to verify we haven't broken anything that was working before. Some of these test the code, and some test the actual site with a simulated browser. Green ticks make me happy!

Oh boy, reviewer 2 really went to town on my Voyager book. I know it will be improved by all the suggestions made, but it is hard work doing the revisions. Here's my revision letter _so far_. I'm only in chapter two.

With respect to Eamonn's talk, I wrote about the history and prevalence of secure audio rips for CDs in Eve, Martin Paul, Warez: The Infrastructure and Aesthetics of Piracy (punctum books, 2021), pp 178-9.
As I say, I'd *so* love to go to this talk, but can't.

This also arrived today, to distract me from other reading. And thank you, @samuelmoore.org, for the kind acknowledgement at the start. It sounds as though I will enjoy this intellectual provocation.

Trip out on clock-change morning! Used the wheelchair to get to a lovely seaside cafe. Luka (the dog) had sausage and bacon.

Creating this festschrift reminded me of a basic truth: you can do something nice for someone whenever you want. Don't wait until people are dead to praise them. Don't hold out for someone else to do it. Nominate people for prizes. Write someone a note of appreciation. Today's the day.

I'm struggling to do any cooking myself at the moment, with my upper-arm paralysis, but did manage to hold the spaghetti yesterday, looking like some kind of pasta pirate (no, the eye problems are not resolved).

tici taci records has hit 100 releases on the main label!
Huge congratulations to Dunc for everything he does to run it. It's no small feat, coordinating remixes, supplying correct and pristine metadata to distribution channels, and remixing stuff himself.
So here's to the next 100!

I am trying a possible aid to make this fluid restriction less unpleasant: artifical saliva (I did not know this existed).
It makes you feel as though your mouth is hydrated and seems, therefore, to reduce thirst. It tastes sweet, but is xylitol, not sugar.

Can someone please tell me what this type of plug is called? My new machine runs off it, but to my great surprise wouldn't take a standard kettle lead (and therefore, right now, can't connect to my UPS system). Any help most welcome.

There's a big report out today from Cambridge University Press about transitioning to open access and the broader academic changes needed. Interested in the language they choose to adopt for this: "radical", "collective action", and lots of "diamond" talk within.
