The Q4 2024 data is in and the model held up well once again! 14.6% of all new vehicles sold in Canada were plug-in vehicles (model predicted 15.5%). Hopefully this new record quarter puts the media myth that EV sales are weakening to bed but I doubt it will.

With new Q3 data comes an updated snapshot of our #plug-in demand projections. The blue line is actual data, red line is projected. We are currently on track to meet the 2024 projection of 15.5% plug-in market share. The model has so far been accurate (if a bit conservative) since inception in 2017.

Just a reminder that an EV is cleaner than a gas car EVEN if the grid uses coal. In Ontario our grid has no coal and is mostly zero-emissions nuclear, hydro, wind and solar. Expensive “natural” methane gas is still a big percentage but driving an EV is still better.
