Totally agree with you, Brian. Though I wish you’d lay off with “theatre criticism” as the pejorative of choice. We need more full-throated , well-informed, smart critical engagement. Which includes supporting good shit as well as denouncing stupid crap.

Sounds like an index of discontent severed from grounding in any critical framework for bringing about change. I think this has been a challenge for the Left since at least the exhaustion with theory in the late 90s.
