One small measure of its power: it barely made the original RS Top 500 Albums list in 2003, coming in at 488. When they asked a broader panel to make a revised list in 2020, it jumped all the way to 28. No other album had even close to that much movement.

There's a lot of greatness there, but Voodoo is rightly proclaimed the peak. I could scarcely love that album any more if it were my own child.
