For anyone that uses Reddit and likes the threaded comment system there, you can click the hamburger button, and then it's Settings > Content and Media > Thread Preferences.

You can see that I have "Most-liked first" on, but more importantly, I have "Experimental" on which allows nested comments.
Thread Preferences in your settings. I turned on "most-liked first" and the "experimental" settings, which allows nested comments like they have on Reddit.

Finally, here are the honorable mentions that also shaped me as a person...
I don't know if any other trilogy can match up to Mass Effect. It's a beautiful combination of RPG and shooter, with wonderful writing and buggy, but fun, gameplay. It is truly a legend in the industry. It was so ahead of its time and somehow behind at the same time. Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart as the game that I usually spend more hours modding than playing. I love Pokémon. I think Gold might be my favorite, but Emerald is a close second, and every other game in the series has a special place in my heart. I put off playing this game for so long, but when I finally did, I didn't regret it. It's a great game with a strange atmosphere and interesting, in-depth lore. I think it's the only game that made me read some books afterward.

Next up are some modern games that I've played the most, and continue to enjoy...
I fell in love with Supergiant Games when I played Bastion, but I think they truly shined with Hades. It's a masterpiece in most every way. Combat, characters, music. Voila. Baldur's Gate 3 is pretty much like playing DnD in video game form, and I love it just the same. It scratches my power fantasy itch when I can't get the TTRPG group together. Overwatch is a strange game to me. It's great in a lot of ways, but I also have mixed feelings about its progression. Overall, it has impacted me positively, and I continue to play it today. I have spent hundreds of hours in Valheim running away from enemies that were way too tough for me, making fortresses in places I probably shouldn't have, and wandering endlessly out to sea to explore this vast strange world. 10/10 would get killed by mosquitoes again.

This was tough. So many games shaped who I am today, so I decided to do a few groups.

First off are the games that I think meant the most to me as a kid...
Ahh, Zelda. The whole series is really unforgettable, but especially Majora's Mask. This game terrified me and left me in awe. I was so proud when I beat this game. The true classic. No game has quite captured the feeling of finding out that you've been playing as Revan the whole time. If I had one wish to modernize a single game, it would be this one. What a truly inspired and weird game. Playing as a Final Fantasy character alongside your favorite Disney characters... it was wild, and I loved it. Halo was the first shooter I got into, and it left an indelible impression on me. It revolutionized multiplayer gaming, late night gaming with the boys, and unbridled trash talk. It's a true classic.
