This project has not gone as quickly as we hoped but I’m proud of the fact that through 1993 I’ve got +/- 500 words written on each Best Picture winner. Writing is nothing more than a hobby for me but an important one so it every read and comment means the world to me

The first time I watched THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI (1957) I found it to be pretty dull. Still think it feels like they’re building that damn bridge in real time #filmsky #moviesky 🎥 📽️ 🎬 www.spinningthereel.com/reviews/the-...

What do you even say about Marty? Maybe the slightest film to ever win Hollywood’s biggest prize, but also, not undeserving. Borgnine is wonderful and it’s a delight from start to finish.

I could have been a contender! Loved this rewatch of On The Waterfront. Brando is pitch perfect and the fight against a corrupt organization couldn’t be more relevant.

Been tremendously bad about posting these reviews here. Anyways, we watched FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (1953) like 2 months ago. It’s great, cool to see Sinatra act so well. #filmsky #moviesky 🎥🎬📽️ www.spinningthereel.com/reviews/from...

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (1951) is not the best of the old movie musicals — it’s not even the best Gene Kelly musical. But it is a visual wonder and really made me miss this kind of film. #filmsky #moviesky 📽️ 🎬 🎥 www.spinningthereel.com/reviews/an-a...

You’ve almost certainly seen a movie like ALL THE KINGS MEN (1949) before. A wide eyed idealist jolts into power and succumbs to its corrupting influence. Entertaining even for its cynicism #filmsky #moviesky 🎥 🎬 📽️ www.spinningthereel.com/reviews/all-...

Fell behind on this thread again. Here is my review of Gentleman’s Agreement (1947), a film with its heart in the right place but fells something of a relic with modern eyes. Standout supporting performance by John Garfield #filmsky #moviesky 📽️ 🎬 🎥 www.spinningthereel.com/reviews/gent...
