Tips: find something you can connect to personally about the candidate’s positions. People will tune out someone who is just reading a script.

I agree with this. I also think that the government (fed/state/local) should provide funding so the evidence-based addiction treatment is free for those who need it. It would be cheaper and help the economy in the long run.

For news outlets that still have some standards (increasingly rare, I know) fact-checking and requiring multiple sources make some stories take longer to get out than on social media. Also, just because it is all over social media doesn't mean it didn't come from a single original source.

This is the Fallacy of Relative Privation. It's a very common tactic to argue against doing something you are against without saying you are against it.
