Shameless nerd of queer taste. He/Them. Gay. Recovering Latter Day Saint (Mormon).
All lives can't matter until black and trans lives matter.
Yeah, that's about the only thing of his I've been thinking about looking into. And hopefully he's changed his perspective on genAI in the last couple years, but this certainly soured me on getting to that.

I guess this happened two years ago, goes to show how closely I've been following his work over the decades.

Who amongst us hasn't wished to apply wax eye-drops on pretentious know-it-alls?

This is why we can't let queers watch Raw.

Great film otherwise though.

As surprisingly sympathetic as it is to victims of mental institutions back in the day, that final note of "at least we can all agree that institutions running temperate shower water is better than inquisition torture" really soured me and I think that could be reexamined further.

31 - Haxan

As I started watching this, I couldn't help but wish for a 70s version of this film. But then as it continued, I realized this is the 20s film that led to us getting Belladonna of Sadness and The Devils. That said, I'd still love for Eggers to take a crack at a modern version.

30 - House of Wax

Ah, this is why Vincent Price is an icon. He's allowed the first kill, but then he just had to keep going. smh

29 - Carnival of Souls

The lonely introverted anxious depressed aroace struggle is real.

28 - The Brood

The titular creatures are silly, but the core dysfunctional drama is solid. And who wouldn’t get some joy from seeing Oliver Reed get ripped apart by a bunch of children? I can see why Weapons thought that was a fun beat to copy.

27 - Let The Right One In

Vampires work best in two modes: as elitist parasite, and the ostracized outsider. LTROI is firmly engaged with the latter, exploring the solidarity of the othered. Great stuff.

26 - Jennifer's Body

Sorry for not staying in my lane, lesbians, but I was obviously going to find out about the Juri/Shiori movie for non-anime queers sooner or later.

I feel this, but I make peace by delving into a new musical soundtrack whenever I start spiraling over it. It’s not my fault music is even better with narrative context!
