So if you, like me, have desensitized yourself to the thrill of being scared by a film, just take a few years off. Having a kid also certainly played a role in reducing my appetite for terror. There are enough anxieties in parenthood that simulated ones on screen aren’t as fun anymore.

… I have become a massive wuss. I feel like a kid again when horror movie commercials on late-night TV would make me dive under the covers. I’ve tried to watch a few in the past couple of weeks but I always end up watching through my fingers or watching in the middle of the day with all lights on.
