WhatsApp screenshot between my pregnant Syrian friend and I. She says: “But yesterday all the night they were Israeli air strikes all the night. Many fires.” I say “Oh that's so scary.” She says “And booming by Israel” and I say “I wish I could give you a hug. They are sick.” She replies, “They are trying to destroy everything before there is enough time for the new government to be set.” I say “Evil.” She says “All night the whole country was shaking.” WhatsApp texts between my pregnant Syrian friend and I, about Syrian prisons. She says “We have heared so much about it. Everybody in Syria knew somehow this stories. That is why we have never tried to interact with anything related to politics or people in army. But still seeing that live Is scarier than hearing about it.” She then responds to my message “the babies” and she says “it left me unspeakable.” WhatsApp texts between my pregnant Syrian friend and I. I say “Syria is full of amazing people who deserve to live freely and safely.” She says “But also Israel is so sick. They could not wait untill things become clear in Syria. They boombed yesterday everything related or suspect to be related to army and weapons.” I say “.... Horrible.” She responds to my message, “May your baby live in a better world inshallah” with a response that “Inshallah we all hope for our next generation to witness more peacefull days.”
