#BiH: For the 1st time, #BHRT employees will protest in front of the Parliament on 27 Nov. Our full solidarity with #BHRT staff, who are fighting to prevent the destruction of the public broadcaster. If not resolved very soon, the crisis will soon make it impossible for them to continue their work.

Today we attended the #eu2025dk conference organised by @eu2025dk.bsky.social to discuss viability, reliability, plurality of the 🇪🇺 media sector & prominence of general interest media services. Featuring special guest Danish actor Pilou Asbæk, who called for a stronger Europe on these issues.

Johannes Anttila, policy advisor at the European Parliament, emphasised that there are already many existing legal bases at the European level addressing these technological changes. "#AI is just a technology, and we already have laws for it. We need to make use of them."

In the Western Balkans, the conversation around #AI in journalism is in its early stages, and it's a challenging one as the constant attacks on journalists dominate discussions. Despite lack of awareness and guidelines, journalists do use AI. "We must learn from other countries," said Anja Anđušić.

Director of research @reutersinstitute.bsky.social @richardfletcher.bsky.social shared findings about public perception of generative AI in news (6 countries). While still few people (6%) use #GenAI to get news, figures are rising. Young people are more likely to use AI to help them navigate news.

Overall the report calls for a shift in workplace culture so that mental health is addressed in a systematic manner.
