As European Democrats, we are alarmed. This is not political discourse — it’s intimidation of elected officials. In any democracy, threats like these undermine the rule of law and endanger public safety. 2/3

Algorithms should not reward distortion. Platforms must be transparent, accountable, and committed to defending—not destabilising—democracy.
If we want democracy to survive, we must invest in civic education, digital literacy, and bold regulation of the online space. 3/3

Revisionist content, decontextualised memes, and AI-generated propaganda are flooding feeds, whitewashing authoritarian regimes and undermining democratic values.
We believe digital platforms must take responsibility. 2/3

We must not reward aggression with territorial concessions, nor let others decide Europe's security over our heads.
We believe that a lasting peace must reflect international law, support Ukraine’s sovereignty, and be built with—not over—Europe. 3/3

A peace process that excludes both Ukraine and Europe is not a solution—it’s a threat. As Kaja Kallas rightly said, no deal can work “without Europe and Ukraine on board.” 2/3

Upholding it means defending humanity, accountability and peace in a world that seems to forget. 3/3
