Prof. Giacomo Moretti from Uni Trento discussed how electro-mechanical dynamics can expand the performance envelope of EAP devices.

And Prof. Jürgen Maas from TU Berlin reflected on material choices and scalable fabrication approaches for multilayer dielectric elastomer transducers. 2/3

The respective projects aim to develop novel bone-forming biohybrid soft materials for soft (micro-)robotics and soft actuators based on pneumatics and electroactive polymers for wearables to exert artificial touch for pain relief.

The project aims to develop guidewires and catheters that will be bent upon electrical stimulation in order to help surgeons to position and navigate them accurately and easily, reducing complexity, time and cost of surgeries towards less invasive surgeries with improved patient outcome.
