There is an option on the scientist career satellite dish for "Prevent Abductions". It might be an upgrade that only scientists can do though but it's worth checking out.

I'm the same. I like to have options - who knows what mood I will be in each day, seriously? Also, I always pack 3x more underwear than I need.

absolutely that is the first thing i do for my sims - replace all the trees and bushes with debug. And if it's a reno of a base game house, changing to newer release windows and doors makes a HUGE difference!
