Check out Richard Bobo! He's been making a subcontra for 10 years now & documenting it on YouTube. A contra must be doable, but you'd probably spend more money than an Amati would cost. I had the "pleasure" of playing contra last season with my community orchestra. Way more difficult than I expected

Some of the best quintets in the repertoire, and Weisberg is such a legend. What a treat to have one of my favorite bassoonists playing some of my favorite quintets. I will be on the lookout for this one.
