The European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) was launched in October 2017 in response to a request by the Iraqi government for advice on how to undertake civilian security sector reform (SSR). The current mandate will run until 30 April 2026.

EUAM Iraq delivered a compact Senior Strategic Leadership programme for the KRG Ministry of Interior. In a three-day workshop in Erbil, 35 decision makers are strengthening their planning, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills to support ongoing security sector reform.
