When you roleplay, do you prefer to write in present tense? Past tense? Do you change to match your roleplay partner? Does it change depending on whether you're roleplaying in game or over another format (discord, forum, tumblr, etc.)? Why?

maybe a 3 by any logical scale so probably a 7 to many people. modern XIV RP gets lore accuracy mixed up with power scaling or textual literalism less than it used to though!
imo filling in blank spaces is orthogonal to lore accuracy. adding things is not intrinsically lore accurate *or* inaccurate

how do you handle lore adherence/strictness?
let's go with a scale from 1-10, where 1 is "i only acknowledge what's explicitly confirmed to exist in-game", 5 is "i fill in empty gaps but don't rewrite things" and 10 is "i have rewritten the entire setting"
