Other groups have shown that a fraction of intratumoral Tregs are actually pTregs, derived from the conversion of Th1 cells into pTregs mediated by TGF-β. A lot of research needed to solve the contribution of TGFb on nTreg vs pTreg in tumor promotion. rupress.org/jem/article/...

Using an elegant approach, it was demonstrated that a big majority of intratumoral Treg nTreg instead of pTreg. This is critical, as we normally think that TGF-b coming from the TME is promoting local Treg differentiation!🧐

What if TCRs didn’t need to see peptides to bind MHC?
A newly identified human TCR docks sideways onto HLA-DQ2.5—like an antibody.
This could reshape how we think about antigen recognition 🧐🧐 @niclag.bsky.social @naturecomms.bsky.social

😱Enteric neuronal Piezo1 maintains mechanical and immunological homeostasis by sensing force.
"Finally, we uncover that enteric neuronal Piezo1 function is required for motility alterations in colitis and acts to prevent aberrant inflammation and tissue damage"

T cells that have not undergone MHC selection can bind soluble antigens, such as proteins or peptides, without the need for MHC presentation. 😱😱https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1074761311005206

One of the things I love about sicence is that always I am blown away. I want to highlight the recent Alfred singer work! Autoreactive T cells are not depleted in the thymus, instead they are evicted to the periphery and tolerance is induced in the periphery.
