I am weirdly emotional about The Child Upstairs’ progress with the violin. He started murdering versions of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in the early days of lockdown (should be a war crime) and is now adding skillful little flourishes to Bach. 🥹

It has been raining all day, and two of my upstairs neighbors are boys under ten. Their mother is coping by having them flail around to a teeth-shatteringly loud dance remix of Tiny Dancer. I have never met them, but I feel like I know them on a fundamental level.
