Kristallnacht was on 9-10 November 1938 - The Night of Broken Glass. Tonight we leave a light on to remember the antisemitic violence that took place that night in November 1938. Please read the blog post I wrote several years ago at this time. round2itgenealogy.wordpress.com/2020/11/09/k...

After 25+ years a big #genealogy brick wall fell: I was sent a copy of my GG Grandfather’s death cert. He died 2 years after all sources had suggested. Better still, his son/death informant gave a wrong birth date for him. He was born 2 years later than stated on the cert. I have his birth record!

Disabled people are not a political deal. As these back-room conversations happen, has anyone thought of the Disabled people whose lives will be impacted?

The Government is still attempting to slash billions of pounds from a system that doesn't provide enough support as it is.

Devastated at the #AssistedDyingBill passing through the House of Commons - a tiny majority of 23 on a Private Member's Bill is no way to pass through legislation that will drastically alter how Disabled people trust and engage with healthcare professionals.

Great to see these digital 'memory #maps' of Anglo-Jewish #history flagged on Laura Vaughan's blog. They unite oral history, images and local context & there's one for London, one for Manchester - should be of interest to Jewish #genealogy researchers & One-Placers, amongst others:

Recollection and Mediation in Two Memory Maps of Anglo-Jewish History I’m happy to announce a new article that was published open access online on 10th February, 2025 in the European Journal …

That age old #genealogy #familyhistory problem caused by often copied family tree information: Did the couple marry on 4 May or 5 April? Of course, the original record isn’t available online so we can’t check it. Some family trees say one date, and some say the other! SIGH!

Some people need to change the way text is displayed in order to read it. This includes changing size, spacing, font, color, and other properties. When people customize text, the text should re-flow so they don’t have to scroll horizontally to read.

#Genealogy task for today is scanning photos from our wedding over 30 years ago and sending copies to relatives. Sharing happy memories and then organising the images by labelling all the scanned photos with names, dates and places. What are your genealogy plans for this weekend?

#genealogy weekend rabbit hole and spare time eater – what happens when you randomly follow an interesting genealogy link to an online book and inadvertently, sometime later, end up making exciting and unexpected ancestral discoveries that definitely go way further than names and dates and places!
