5/ and created the first ever comprehensive bibliography of Ethiopian children's books. Over the last 2 1/2 years, we also distributed over 250,000 attractive books in 6 languages to children of displaced families and at conflict-damaged schools who are out of education.

3/ Over 27 years Ethiopia Reads has bought from local authors, provided workshops for writers and illustrators, advocated for local authors, to major donors and government supported children's book awards (shout-out to Hohe Awards), recognized and promoted children's classics and their authors...

2/ Not enough titles with Ethiopian stories created, not enough made available, almost no publishers (all self-publishing), poor availability in bookstores and large donors on education projects rarely supporting local authors and illustrators.
