The explicit purpose that the billionaire capitalist class have for AI investment is to create a ‘useless’ class. They follow the same techno-feudalist philosophy as Curtis Yarvin. They want us all to be serfs aka slaves. This was always the plan and the final result of capitalism

I seriously don’t know what people could possibly be thinking if they don’t think Collin’s and Mills will absolutely bring up his past in the primaries, like it’s actually delusional

Hey folks at Jacobin, this isn’t cool, how about fielding some better leftist candidates before going all in a black water merc with a Nazi ss tattoo for almost 20 years, and was using slurs just a few years ago. He might have some good stances but at best he’s a fucking moron and bad for everybody

As far as I’m concerned the MAGA regime is a terrorist organization and Trump is their cult leader. Do not negotiate with this freak. Lay out your demands and see how they respond

There also seems to be consensus on the “Transylvania Twist” not having sufficient enough evidence to claim it was a historical dance and not simply a legendary prance inspired by older folk traditions and archetypes

None of those things are happening dipshit. Inflation is up, jobs are down, eggs are $12 a dozen, gas is up, crime is up, stock market is crashing, we’re on the brink of war with our own allies and bowing to our enemies, the only people that are getting wealthy are the corrupt criminal billionaires

University of Arkansas. Kinda tepid about admitting that because I don’t want to play into stereotypes about the south, and I had many great professors, but I was very disappointed in my experience lol

It may be generational. I’m an older gen z, and majored in art history and it was an almost weekly occurrence. In one of my world lit classes while reading the stranger by Camus several people stopped reading several chapters in because of the treatment of women, without understanding the intention

It breaks my heart to see so many young people completely unwilling to understand the historical context around older works. Many of the best representations of the human condition used intentionally rough language and accepting that is the only way to really understand a work with any depth.

We can only hope they eat each other alive long enough for us to actually get some class consciousness

The average brain rotted American who has grown up witnessing all our objectively fascist institutions and being told this is what the greatest country on earth is are now wanting to complete the image with an authoritarian child king and his sycophant ghouls

Their parliament voted to pretty much ignore him, I’m afraid we don’t have enough congress members or senators with enough of a spine to stand up to him or more accurately his supporters

It’s so funny to me that this is the most heated debate I’ve seen on this app so far

I love audiobooks, but they’ve done studies that show actually reading forms neural pathways unlike any other kind of information and is a big component in the development of critical thinking. It’s why the printing press had such a large impact on the enlightenment
