Turin Brakes are now a 10-album-band. Last Friday Spacehopper landed on earth and we all could listen to a set of 11 new Turin Brakes tunes. While I'll save my official review for when my physical copies finally arrive (I want to hold the album in my hands first, I'm old-fashioned I guess), it's nice to see fans and media reacting to it online.

Back in the Ether Song days, the band were asked what they'd say to fans who might need time to get used to the different sound of the second album compared to the acoustic lo-fi vibes of The Optimist Lp... Some of my Turin Brakes friends and me still refer to that "Hop on the Turin Brakes bus"-mentality the band mentioned in that context.

Turin Brakes have released a third song from their upcoming album Spacehopper. The song is called Old Habits. A video will be available from 8 AM UK time: But you can already stream the song on your favourite streaming service. The song is slower and more introspective than previous released songs from Spacehopper and features some prominent slide guitar and even some piano in the latter stages.

Turin Brakes have announced shows in record stores and intimate venues across England starting on the 23rd of May, the release date of their 10th album Spacehopper. In a Instagram post, the band posted: To celebrate the release of our new album Spacehopper (out 23rd May!), we’ll be heading out for a short run of special stripped-back performances at some of our favourite record shops around the UK.

Turin Brakes have announced a string of European tour dates. Per tradition, the band plays shows in Italy, Germany and The Netherlands. In February there are four dates in Italy, including Rome and Turin (Torino). The tour continues in late February and March with dates in Hamburg and Berlin. After München and Cologne they'll play three dates in Groningen, Amsterdam and Tilburg.

Tom Speight is gearing up for a new album release it seems. Now he has released a new song called Higher, which features vocals and musical work by a lot of Turin Brakes members. Tom Speight spent last Summer in the studio, right after Turin Brakes finished their upcoming album (any day now? please?) so a lot of the members of Turin Brakes helped out during the recording sessions.
