Are we talking about five-year olds? That's how I understood (but did not believe) the original post. In that case, I would use the word "arithmetic" instead of "math". I remember one of my reports from back then and apparently I was very good with rods. I went on to become good at mathematicss.

I have taken that saying to mean that prayer alone is meaningless, if something practical can be done. But I can see how it's been used as a cop-out.
