I’d be very upset if Wynn (and Stranch) don’t rescind. Don’t let McConnell’s pressure stop them. I also highly doubt they really didn’t have the votes for Lipez. But maybe Dems conceded there since Patrick Strawbridge (or whoever 47 picks) would often just be a lone dissenter on the 1st circuit.

I wish people would stop treating Latino voters as a monolith. Mexican-Americans and Central-Americans who are more likely to have family that’s undocumented often priories different issues than Cubans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans etc who have memories of communism.

Surprised that they’d recommend two people from Sioux Falls (her and Eric Schulte) as one of the vacancies is in Rapid City, which is 5 hours driving distance from Sioux Falls. The Rapid City seat is already vacant whereas the Sioux Falls vacancy is only happening upon confirmation of successor.

I wish Biden would just nominated liberal circuit judges without consulting home state Senators. Trump did (Eric Miller on the 9th and Paul Matey on the 3rd come to mind). They must be refusing to turn in blue slips for district court picks if the circuit court pick isn’t ok to them.

Do you think Biden will appoint some from Tampa (where Wilson is from)? Or he’ll just appoint anyone from Florida? Besides Wilson, all active judges on the 11th circuit from Florida are from either Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Tallahassee (two senior from Jacksonville). Never been one from Orlando.
