From the Guardian: High art: the museum that is only accessible via an eight-hour hike The Frattini Bivouac is part of a Bergamo gallery’s experiment to ‘think like a mountain’. But in the thin air of the Italian alps, curatorial ideas are challenged in more ways than one The Frattini Bivouac is not staffed, ticketed or mediated. Anyone can enter it, but only after a six-to-eight-hour ascent on foot across scree, moss and snowfields. When I visited, I only saw it from the helicopter for the press preview; in every other circumstance, the only route is the long climb. Perhaps surprisingly, there is also no art inside this museum. The inside is austere: nine sleeping platforms, a wooden bench, a rectangular skylight framing a strip of sky that becomes the only artwork on view. There are no vitrines, labels or interpretative devices. Instead, there is temperature, silence, altitude. Sound travels strangely here: breath, boots, rain on fabric. The museum, usually devoted to protecting objects from the elements, has instead exposed itself to them.

The process here is always the same. The individual has a stock of old opinions already, but he meets a new experience that puts them to a strain. Rereading Catch-22 and feeling extremely called out by the description of Clevinger

It was an illusion, of course, generated by Clevinger’s predilection for staring fixedly at one side of a question and never seeing the other side at all. Politically, he was a humanitarian who did know right from left and was trapped uncomfortably between the two. He was constantly defending his Communist friends to his right-wing enemies and his right-wing friends to his Communist enemies, and he was thoroughly detested by both groups, who never defended him to anyone because they thought he was a dope. He was a very serious, very earnest and very conscientious dope. It was impossible to go to a movie with him without getting involved afterward in a discussion on empathy, Aristotle, universals, messages and the obligations of the cinema as an art form in a materialistic society. Girls he took to the theater had to wait until the first intermission to find out from him whether or not they were seeing a good or a bad play, and then found out at once. He was a militant idealist who crusaded against racial bigotry by growing faint in its presence. He knew everything about literature except how to enjoy it.

Without going into too much detail, this gentleman has BPAD and believes he is solving mathematical equations related to quantum computing - he cannot be shifted from the notion that his theories are being vindicated and that we believe he is “psychotic” due to not having an advanced enough understanding of advanced math. To prove that his theories are getting worldwide renown he has printed and shown us pages and pages of chat logs which he reports to be world famous mathematicians validating his theories but these logs are clearly some sort of AI which just keeps providing feedback to him that he’s been solving previously unsolvable equations and making discoveries We have had to confiscate his phone but he keeps borrowing phones from other patients, logging into what we believe are chat bot programs, and continuing to obsess over their feedback "Finally we have the means, the understanding, the technology, to allow spiders to talk to cats"
