The BedrettoLab was designed for experiments in geothermal energy and seismology. But the facility below the Swiss Alps also hosts a project led by Cara Magnabosco, who is studying microorganisms that live deep in the Earth’s subsurface.

Many congratulations to geophysicist Thomas Hudson on being awarded an @erc.europa.eu Starting Grant for his research project “Illuminating Ice Dynamics with Emerging Seismic Technology”, combining seismology and glaciology to better understand how quickly glaciers are melting.
