Thanks. I guess I'm just feeling a lot of frustration. You'll read an article that gives a sentence or two saying something shocking, like that the effect of the wildfires or of drought is not being factored into models, and then there is little place to turn to for clarification or context.

Random non-scientist here. Have appreciated this thread. One thing I'm still confused about. Other articles on the same topic (tinyurl.com/ypkdsrz6) have talked about how models have not taken into account factors like the Canadian wildfires? Really? That seems like a pretty huge oversight.
