Oh, I got an MRI appointment at short notice on Monday. It's not ideal with New Year's Eve around the corner (and presumably a night of bad sleep because of fireworks), but I'm currently stable and who knows how I feel in a month. And what's done is done, after all.

Sooo ... potato mode it is. 🥔

I'm still having trouble with my stomach, especially concerning fats, but my wife stumbled upon an interesting recipe for vegan "duck". It's mostly seitan and jackfruit, so primarily protein and fibre. Served with thin gravy and mild veggies.

This has been the […]

Good news: presumably proper cortisol levels.
Bad news: at 3:30am. 😵‍💫

My wife baked (potato) gingerbread. Haven't tried them yet, but at least one of them is looking funny.

“Make sure to take an hour out of your day to listen to this podcast episode, which will completely reinforce the opinion about a person you are already holding!" feels like a proper representation of our current online zeitgeist. 🙃

In case anyone else was curious but didn't feel like asking. 😄

When I was healthy, my wife and I would make a stroll to a local bakery for a surprise bag pretty much every week. “Bread Friday“ also became a temporary tradition with a friend who sadly decided to part ways.

So getting these now is kind of a bittersweet […]

Looks like it was a good idea to take the occasional sleeping pill to break the cycle of bad nights for now.

Still resting to mitigate possible damage from Wednesday. I'll know by tomorrow.

Sales rep in the hallway, so I can't have lunch because the microwave would snitch on me.

Can't remember having trouble falling asleep this year. Waking up often, wakefulness at night, unrefreshing sleep, sure, but at least I managed to fall asleep at my usual bedtime quite well.

Well, I guess we gonna make sure to check all the boxes before the end of the year. 🙃

“Follow our podcast on Instagram“ will probably never not feel wrong. 😄

My body seems reluctant to produce heat today. Good thing we have a heating blanket lying around. Like

I sometimes feel like a have to take care of a 90-year-old, which, coincidentally, happens to be my body. 😄

It's not often that a post stays with me for some time, but years ago I came across one that I remember going something like: “whenever someone suddenly starts ghosting me, I imagine that they were a spy that fell in love with me, so they couldn't finish the kill order.“

Looking back at people […]

It took about a month after my short trip to the hospital for my brain to feel at (sick) baseline again. Just in time to see my dentist next week. Which is the only appointment of my original planning that stayed in the calendar.

After that, the calendar is finally empty for the rest of the […]

Given all the indifference and negligence in the world, “a stranger took the time to (try to) help me“ is definitely one of the more surprising things to be upset about.

Huh. Me finishing school will be half-my-life ago next year.

People on the internet be like:

"Dogs are great, because they're all brown."
"I disagree with the specific sentiment that all dogs are brown. To underline my argument, I'm hereby providing a picture of a black dog."
"How dare you say that dogs aren't great?!"

How have these people survived […]

It's not like this month has anything in store or that an arbitrary date change would have tangible implications, but November has been the toughest month this year, so I'm still glad it's gone now.

I've now taught the third creator on YouTube how to turn off auto-dubbing for their videos ... by quoting the corresponding YouTube Help article.

I haven't encountered "RTFM" in a while. Do we need to bring it back? 😄

Always nice to listen to a well-structured podcast.

Looks like I'm not following enough people from the UK. Why else would it take me until now to find out about Colin the Caterpillar?!

Also, is it accurate that people chant "eat the face!" at the birthday child when it's used as a birthday cake? 😅

Realised that one of the creators I follow might have transitioned. So I looked up public information where they stated: "I read 'gender dysphoria' in a book, didn't know what it meant, looked it up in the dictionary and ... well, don't look stuff up if you don't want your life turned upside […]

Looks like I'll have to ditch the MRI appointment tomorrow. Immense tiredness and brain fog, pretty much out of nowhere.

It's genuinely annoying, but there's no benefit in risking even more of my health for another "just to make sure" appointment.

*signs off to bed*
