A black, elongated beetle and a bumble bee with long dark yellow to ivory hairs over much of its body (as seen in the photo, abdomen which has some black hairs is not visible) with their heads facing each other. Their antennae may be touching. The bumble bee has a wide, oval band of black at mid-thorax and some visible black hairs on the tibia of its middle leg. The gumweed flower is yellow and composite in form with a central disc comprising many small florets surrounded by ray petals extending out ward from the disc's outer margins.

A medium-sized and sturdy looking bee with gold to dark gold hairs on its face and thorax and first segment of abdomen. Light colored stripes alternate with on the remaining segments of the abdomen. Compound eyes appear grey because of the lighting, but they are actually a milky green with black spots. Black antennae, full pollen baskets on her hind legs.

A brilliant green bee with dark green compound eyes (eye shape reminds me of an inverted teardrop. Her thorax is covered with short off-white hairs. dots of dark grey in her eyes. She has light brown wings, black antennae and a large amount of ivory-colored pollen collected on her hind legs. Her brown tongue is visible, extending into the flower base from between her mandibles: she is drinking/collecting nectar.

A dark red dragonfly perched on a dead stalk of black mustard. Other brown grasses and stalks in the background. Eyes are a darker red, almost approaching purple. Wings have complex veining that appears patterned. Black epaulets at the outer top margin of the front wings.

Cats Merlin and Loki winding down on the top level of their cat tree. Snuggled together. Merlin is a Siamese/Tabby mix with blue eyes. Loki is silvery grey with gold eyes, but they are closed in slumber.

A black bee with medium long black antennae, clear wings with dark veins. White hairs on its face and large black compound eyes. Scattered white hairs on thorax. Each abdominal segment is fringed with white hairs. Last abdominal segment is blunt and curves inward, ending in two small points.
