if you're not gonna reveal it in universe then yeah that's absolutely what you should do with it. This is pure speculation but I think the fatal flaw with DA at least is that they laid all that shit out and then were like "well now we can just use these ideas for antags" by DA: Awakening

It pretty much always sets up questionable implications about the messaging of a story, *especially* in something like Dragon Age where the propaganda is about minorities

I'm always gonna remember the spots in my playthrough of Nioh 2 where I was hardstuck on a boss (shout outs to Kashin Koji, that absolute prick) before realizing that I was eschewing literally all of my tools in favor of one strat. Then proceeding to stunlock the boss to death once my brain was on
