Yes, thank you. That’s on my list. Carlin’s biography on Bruce was great.

…I’ve read a lot of them. I thought I knew a lot about Bruce, but I was learning something new on virtually every page. And it’s not just the very interesting details Zanes provides, but his deep insights into Bruce and this era of his life. Absolutely a 10/10.

Yes, something like that would definitely be better. Or even just Summer of Springsteen. I still wouldn’t like the song probably, but it at least it would irritate me less. Just when I thought I was done thinking about this song, you pull me back in!

Finally, someone who gets me!

It’s kind of like if Bruce titled Thunder Road “Orbison” instead. Yeah he name checks Roy Orbison in the verse, but it’s not *about* Roy Orbison so that would be misleading. I am way overthinking this, aren’t I?

I think I would like it better if it kept all the Bruce song references in the verses, but came up with a different chorus and title than “Springsteen.” Every time I hear him sing “Springsteen” my mind is saying “yeah, what about him???” It doesn’t connect to what the rest of the song is about.

Me too. The Dancing in the Dark video was the first time I saw/heard Bruce, so that always has a special place. I do recall hearing Hungry Heart on the radio as a kid but I had no idea it was Bruce until Live 75-85 came out and I was like “Oh that’s a Bruce song?”

I’m still on board with Born in the USA as one of his greatest songs. I’d keep it in the top 10 myself.

The only nice thing I can say about it is maybe it brought some new fans to Bruce who had never heard of him? Other than that, I have no use for it

Yeah, it’s very gimmicky. He’s trying so hard to sound deep when he sings “Springsteen” but there’s just no depth there. This song just rubs me the wrong way. It’s almost irritating.

Interesting! Never see this one mentioned, but it’s up there for me too. Would love to hear the “electric Nebraska” version.

Sandy would be close to top 10 for me too.

Little Steven’s memoir was fantastic! Especially the audio book with Stevie narrating.

Definitely on the short list of finest 8 minutes on any record.
