For those who once sang karaoke and are now content as spectators, what was your karaoke swan song? What song went so poorly that you decided to sit down for a while?

I'll go first: Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Washington DC, June 2025. I flew too close to the sun!

Plenty of #SpellingBee omissions make me grumpy, but not counting momo (Tibetan & Nepali dumplings) also makes me hungry, which is exponentially worse.

After birding this morning, I went to the thrift store and bought basically a whole CD collection because there were so many that I’ve had and loved before and I’m tired of not owning music anymore. I guess what I’m saying is I am old.

I went birding this morning at a local park, and our group saw 44 species in two hours. The sponsoring org had free binoculars to borrow, and I met some cool people. Chicago continues to be fantastic.

I know we get excited about sharing dinner pics on the internet but this is my breakfast lately and it makes me so happy. The frozen blueberries keep the milk cold longer and turn it a gorgeous purple by the end.

Amid the barrage of actions directly against research to support students with disabilities, it feels more important than ever to celebrate the work we can do right now. Yesterday we submitted a manuscript, and today we got an acceptance. I'm celebrating with pho and sledding.
