German Grammar Tip: The -er ending! 💡

In German, if a noun ends in -er, it is usually masculine (der). This is especially true for jobs and tools: ✅ Der Lehrer ✅ Der Bäcker ✅ Der Fernseher
But watch out for a few exceptions like das Wasser (neuter) or die Mutter (feminine). 🌊

The -in suffix! 🇩🇪✨

Most German nouns referring to people or animals that end in -in are feminine (die).

✅ Die Ärztin (Doctor) ✅ Die Anwältin (Lawyer) ✅ Die Schülerin (Student) ✅ Die Löwin (Lioness)

🚨 Watch out: Some words like das Vitamin or das Benzin end in -in but are neuter, not feminine!

While "Gift" in English means a present, in German, das Gift means poison.

If you want to give someone a present, you’re looking for the word das Geschenk. 🎁
