Beyond the Roots was an editorial article I made last year, 2024, for my school pub's latest issue. This editorial served as a continuation to "Harmony Beyond Roots", an article I wrote the year before this. Being a continuation, this piece aimed to further discuss the untold yet grim realities of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Cagayan de Oro City (CdOC). "Timeless Riches: Unearthing Relics That Shape Our World" was a feature article written by me this year and published by the school publication in their latest issue. For this feature, I wanted to create a discussion on the role of school libraries in the 21st century, its meaning, and how relevant it is in a world almost entirely dominated by technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), ultimately overshadowing traditional modalities. "Harmony Beyond Roots" is an editorial of mine I consider to be my magnum opus. This article, written in 2023, sheds light on the livelihoods of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Cagayan de Oro City (CdOC), particularly those of the Higaonon tribe. It was an investigative deep dive into the ongoing fight of the Higaonon tribe to reclaim ancestral lands, the unethical practices masked by performative laws and backhanded support, and the like. This article, upon its publishing, received a ton of positive reception and acknowledgement by campus journalist coaches nationwide, going as far as to become one of the articles in the editorial page to have scored 4th place in the NSPC (National Schools Press Conference), and one of the articles in the issue to have scored 1st for Best Overall Schoolpaper in the entire Philippines.
