louis is ultimately a sympathetic character to me because he’s who i would be without the right people in my life. trusting other people is hard and i am not sure how i will manage it but rin and zach have convinced me i have to try, because on the other side of it is becoming louis.

i think i often feel jaded when engaging with leftist discourse because it always feels to me like people want to do something more than they want to do the right thing. it sometimes feels like its fantasy worldbuilding more so than an attempt to learn how to craft the future.

zach and rin did us the service of talking about the game’s powerful message rather than focusing on what specifics they agree with. maybe this is my brain problem but i think at some level i feel blase to the kind of messaging where the writers just tell you what to think.

something that really bothered me when i first played metaphor was how atlus really likes to just tell you what to think. with catherina’s story in particular this bothered me, but i think the presentation really made it click in my head how writing like this can sabotage whats really being said.
