Even as a teenager I often felt depictions of authoritarians in Blues Brothers, MASH, Animal House and other films were over the top caricatures. Trump’s administration proves such people not only exist, but in many cases exceed the caricature of any cinematic counterpart they may have.

This poster hasn’t taken Greyhound in a while. Greyhound is a pretty awful experience. Even budget airlines I’ve flown, “AirCramsat”(AirTransat) and “NearDeath”(Southwest) are still well above Greyhound - though, as when traveling Greyhound, get seats well away from the toilet.

Anyone paying attention during his first term, his M.O. by now is basically: Retract, deny/diminish, call info/news fake, claim others are responsible, then if he has to cave, he gives us a double whammy of, “there’s nothing there, but if there is, the democrats did it or did worse.”

I’m guessing this will be used in one of his misdirection efforts: calling publicly to release the files, but still having DOJ conduct an investigation into Democrats. Trump will then fallback to saying, “Well, you’d have to talk to the DOJ, this is what they do during active investigations.”

Good.Part of the reason things like Star Wars and Marvel haven’t been doing so well isn’t merely that their outputs have been subpar. It’s that when there’s new content almost every month the specialness diminishes. Part of a successful franchise cycle is building audience anticipation and hunger.
