Curious, with questions. Fan of clear thinking, justice and actual expertise. Finance career, "Not a regular accountant." Not a bot.
I always wonder how MS got us to accept this as normal. IBM and its mainframe brethren never suggested a "Refreshing Reboot" for malfunctioning or non-responsive equipment!
"Good enough" quality cost calculation I suspect, now known to be "enshittification". Now its a technological assumption.

Fed Debt ballooned ~$6-8T during #45's term.
factually.co/fact-checks/...

Given the "exceeding expectations" nature of #47's term, we can expect a corollary increase in Federal Debt that coincides with the multiple mandates for resources (ICE, Military, etc) that are Federal responsibilities. 2/2
What was the total increase in the national debt durin...
Executive Summary Donald J. Trump’s four-year presidency (Jan 2017–Jan 2021) coincided with a rise in the gross federal debt of about $7–8 trillion, depen...

I would love to see a robust debate on these related economic drivers:
1) AI investment "Demand" and impact on sources of funding.
2) Fed response to such demand. What are the constraints?
3) Limits of each.
Interplay of 1-3 within the proven Bankruptcy History of the current US Chief Executive. 1/2

The dreaded "Three men in a room" autocratic deal cutting to determine our futures. Putin's dream for the West.

If you've spent time with enough people you have met some who lie reflexively, constantly even when it's not necessary or helpful to whatever point they're making.
Textbook example for his entire life.

Did that for a while, actually.
I read a while ago this question, which I thought was brilliantly insightful: "What is it about our society that leads to enormous numbers of its participants to engage in dangerous levels of substance abuse to escape it briefly?"
Can't argue with the OP's answer.

I've begun to call it "Profitism". It's the ONLY value.

"I consider myself...important..." is really all you need to know.

Make it so.

...but an appropriate joke. Fits a certain unpleasant stereotype in #47's orbit.

This is great. Hope is an important perishable commodity these days and an "Oasis of replenishment" is valuable and welcome.

At the extremely wealthy level of operations, Legal "Rope-A-Dope" is paired with "I have more lawyers than you." The goal is to wear you out physically or financially or both with hired experts. #47 has ALWAYS specialized in this tactic. It's foundational to every single "Deal" he crows about.

This is the same BS argument from the Clinton administration's healthcare battle: THE MARKET will solve all the problems without government interference! What we got was Insurance companies converting from mutual non-profits (exist for the members) to For Profit Publicly Traded Orgs. Not a win. 2/2

NOBODY buys healthcare on price alone. Prescriptions a bit, but even then, there's name brand quality vs generic. Need your knee replaced? You aren't low-bidding that surgery and follow up rehab. Traffic accident? Heart attack? Long term chronic genetic condition (mentioned by others)? 1/2

Grew up in Iowa. It's changed A LOT, but Iowa City has always been a progressive island of experimentation.
