In 1977, one of the issues ‘left on the table’ at the final meeting of Head Masters Association (later ASCL) in Division XV at Llanwrtyd was N. Stewart’s resolution regarding H.M.A. investments which helped to support the South African Government with its apartheid policy. /1

I will definitely get Nick and Rob's new book from the library when it comes out. I hope it is a fair and balanced assessment of the reforms which worked and those which didn't. Rob's previous polemic was very much historical cherry picking. I have high hopes for this though!

The is Margaret Robertson - she was headmistress of Christ's Hospital Girls School for 32 years. She was President of the Association of Headmistresses later @ascl-uk.bsky.social - I was reading a PHD about women code breakers yesterday and it turns out Margaret was one of them. /1

In 1988, 10 yrs after SHA was established, Regent's road, one of the largest and 'most attractive' Victorian properties in Leicester was chosen to be the new HQ.  It was inspected first by the President and 2 member of the new building working party then by the whole executive /8
