Une plateforme est « open source » s’il est possible de connaître précisément l’ensemble du code informatique utilisé pour la faire fonctionner. Cela permettrait de voir si certains contenus sont mis en avant de manière artificielle. Sur X, seule la partie qui sélectionne les messages du fil de publications a été publiée en ligne sur le site GitHub, il y a deux ans. Aucun changement de cet algorithme, pourtant fréquemment modifié, n’a été publié depuis. Autrement dit, il s’agit d’une transparence partielle déjà datée, qui ne permet pas de contrôler les biais codés volontairement pour influencer l’opinion. Défendre le journalisme Pour Elon Musk, les médias traditionnels sont morts et seuls les utilisateurs de X, armés des notes de communauté, sont désormais à même de faire régner la vérité. Si nous considérons que l’information pluraliste est une condition nécessaire de la démocratie, nous devons défendre le journalisme comme moyen d’exercer le droit d’informer et d’être informé. À cet égard, les notes de communauté ne sont ni du journalisme, ni une alternative à la modération. Pour faciliter cette migration, notamment emmener ses contacts avec soi, l’Institut des systèmes complexes d’Île-de-France, CNRS, a développé la plateforme « Open Portability ». Cette plateforme permet à tout citoyen, européen ou non, d’exercer son droit à la portabilité de ses données, prévu par le Règlement européen des services numériques DSA. Elle met le génie scientifique au service des droits des citoyens, et plus uniquement à celui des entrepreneurs du numérique. Une première mondiale made in France.

We measured this bias on X thanks to @paulbouchaud.com : it was on average at 32% before #Musk and 49% after. This proves that #ElonMusk changes in #X has considerably worsen social decohesion platform wide.
