2. Elden Ring
Probably the most recent entry in my list of favorites, this game is truly special. I'd never gotten on with soulsish games prior to this, but it made me a believer. The scale and size of it, the depth of build variety and the deep lore really got me hooked.

1. Super Smash Bros Melee
Not only a great casual and party game, it's also the finest competitive fighting game ever made with unmatched depth across the entire spectrum of video games. After 23 years, new techniques and strategies are still being developed by the community. Absolutely brilliant.
