I appreciate each of your posts. Mostly I’m here for the Nancy comic strip guy.
I never would have come up with his name but as soon as I read Meerfur Minit I was back in my childhood living room with a bowl of Golden Grahams and short attention
span theater. A giant part of my comic sensibility came from mornings with that show!

I can definitely understand the Black Friday fatigue. But on the flipside, I did not know about this watch and I’ll be at the Swatch store on Thursday to hopefully get one…

I have tried in vain to convince a musician friend to record some church rock covers of 80s Catholic Hits! It would sell a billion copies. For now I just have to get my Here I Am Lord at my parents’ friends’ funerals

We planned a whole road trip (starting from Chicago) around eating a beef on weck from Schwabl’s and then going from there on upstate NY foods. It was 100% worth it. Buffalo has it figured out.

I remember going three days in a row for that burger. It was excellent. (But also three days was too much!)

This is the one and only reason I subscribe. So for the love of god: more hotel hallway content and less of the hot stove

We’ve done it twice from Chicago, with good success. US 41 down the western edge of Indiana is a lovely start instead of I-57 or I-65. It’s about finding your family’s ideal mix of “whimsical roadtrip togetherness” and “everyone look at your own screen for awhile”

It’s a jean jacket for me. I’m absolutely positive they’ll all laugh at me. But some day…

I had this precise experience. I’ve never felt that same way since.

In an ad that seeks to convey “this elite guy looks down on you and disrespects you but he doesn’t understand Philly’s scrappy toughness,” Rocky is a crazy close analogy. And since 1976 that symbolism has transcended the media itself. (And it’s less than 2 seconds). Summary judgment.

A ton of solid ones in here. The Steelers and Packers are my favorites. No wack bullshit detected!

Interestingly, it looks like later in their life they did get the Kellogg’s logo on the front. I wonder what prompted that change

In my Chicagoland suburb, a 9/11 commemorative plate that inexplicably says “IMPROV”. If it’s a bit, it’s inspired.
