Was always going to go into medicine, but was aiming for MD. Did EMS to begin gaining patient experience while in college and make money.
Fell in love with the chaos of emergency medicine and realized I’d rather work in the field covered in blood than do paperwork in an office.

No clue who is in the Bay Area (not me for sure) but as a first responder I can tell you that one of the best things civilians can do to help in an emergency is learn very basic skills like bleeding control, and CPR.
