Lol I was more ready to make someone's thing than I was to have an idea for myself. The 🌈 OSR discord does a secret Santa (santicorn) for blog posts. My blog currently is filled with jus those 😂 I gotta fix that

An idea could be... Take an existing one page dungeon & fill it in for small creatures?

Yo this still open??

This is a great idea. Also helps you give a kind of self reflection. 🤍

You got a dev log or blog somewhere? I'd be interested in seeing it's progress!

Cute game! I see the "which stat you use is determined randomly with a d5 roll." How does this work out in game? Is it essentially "yes, and..." the result of the roll by both the GM and player?

Are you playing through _all_ of KH??

Hey, when it comes to a passion project, only really your experience in the craft and play of it matters! Glad to hear it's coming together. That's got to feel good!

You mentioned co-create. How's that work for your development process?

Oh hey yea it is pretty useful! Thanks for sharing!

Find a good table with a good fit is tough. Though once ya got it and get into the groove with regular meet ups (thus slaying the ultimate boss, the Schedule), then it works out nice!

I've only watched someone play a bit of the beginning. What's your TTRPG thoughts? Thinking JRPG kind of design and story elements?? What system would you run it in? 👀

Is this a difficult game in the similar vein as Dark Souls or Hollow Knight where a checkpoint or shortcut is definitely a grand reward?
November 11, 2025 at 7:07 AM
Hell ye! I've found TTRPG design to be incredibly rewarding in that it combines so many different skills into one thing. Game design, UI/UX, writing, story telling, improvisation, optimization, soft skills (charisma practice heheh), leadership, and communication. Just off the top of my head! 😆

Stories are inherently character driven and TTRPGs tend to be about telling stories, esp. when narrative is favored over mechanics, so I'd say this is the way. 😎

Great idea btw! I'd love to see the data or finished display as well.

I am uncertain what kind of UI you have in mind here, but wouldn't a simple ordered list with the measure(s) & meta data work here? Much like drivethru's own best seller UI, esp for list view or compact view?

idk your preferred language, so idk what packages to rec. In python I rec dash+plotly.

For speed, I prefer a read x 2 & compare procedure over a read x 3, sum, compare. Although the actions themselves are part of the experience!

I also like a dice pool now and then and that's more reads per die! 🎲

D20 is great and is well loved in OSR & Into the Odd-likes! All this talk about prob distributions now has me understanding better what "swingy" means. So if we have more probable extreme outcomes it's swingy? I do love me some chaos!

Hey. I love the cat ears!! 💚
November 10, 2025 at 7:02 AM
I do believe you are being trolled by someone with a neon green cat ears profile pic. 💚

Meanwhile counted dice pools... They know no one can hear you in a vacuum.

Hmm. Tell me moar. It is on my radar due to Stu Horvath's history book making fudge and it sound promising. :3

🤣 Ayyo! Don't give away secrets to my next game!!
