It’s hard to make out, but they look like the libation statues you can find around the lands between. Libation is an offering of pouring a liquid to a god, or in memory of the dead. Iirc there’s even one of Marika at the chapel of anticipation

The things we see in game around the jars are so horrible I struggle to imagine the shamans doing it willingly. Then again, maybe it was nicer before it was appropriated. Maybe similar to grafting, or the modern erdrtree use of living jars instead. I could see Marika reviving an ancient tradition
