This year I stepped up as a co-lead for the Black @ GitLab group and it’s given me so many opportunities to share game, make introductions, and speak on being Black in tech to so many people. 5/6

In 2023 I spoke on a GitLab panel “Building Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into DevSecOps”.

Attending again this year and hearing so many amazing speakers presenting was refreshing. I really enjoyed growing my LinkedIn network too. 4/6

GitLab squashed my reservations leaving this community by scheduling an interview with a Black@GitLab member.

He was excited to get to know me and he laid out a list of people to connect with before joining who would help me expand my network internally or otherwise. 3/6

At my last job at a company kickoff a bunch of us got together in person and started a private channel for Black and Latinx employees.

We hosted cookout calls monthly often featuring internal or guest speakers educating folks on financial or career development. 2/6
