Art of the evening, as determined by me: Salvador Dali's "Burning Giraffe" (because there was one, except as an animate topiary, straight from the Overlook Hotel).

Song of the evening, determined unanimously by the players: "'Yakety Sax played in a minor key" (eg share.google/yyE11yGi8DX1...)

The whole book is pretty inside, with new art and a gallery of movie stills and battle maps for every scene and a secret hollowed out space inside to hold 2d6 customized for the game (with the 1s replaced by little owls). Visually, it's a treasure!

Tonight's D&D session: This book can be used either as a sourcebook for other systems or as a standalone RPG. Because of where this arc falls within the larger plot, I chose to have the party take a "vacation" from their character sheets to play the d6-based simplified system presented in the book.

The Kurgan strongly protests this scheduling of The Gathering during his habitual mid-morning naptime.

I'm not saying arson isn't a valid D&D problem-solving philosophy. I'm just saying it's the Jason Mendoza problem-solving philosophy.

The Kurgan particularly enjoys this celebration of solidarity among the voids of the world.

Happy honorary birthday to my Friday the Thirteenth cat! He gets extra birthdays every year because I like excuses to give him presents.

That's his "I'm just baby" face. I suspect his other face is the one being summoned:

When you say "tale of Halloween horror" and this is the link preview, it leaves me wanting a horror story about Amazon trying to make sure I'm not a robot. But I did go ahead and buy the one you wrote instead, because it sounds delightful, too.

Just adopted this rule for-canon-realsies in my neurodiverse 5e campaign. "Autism" is not a defined skill, so proficiency & attribute bonuses won't apply. This will help newer players better understand the math the VTT does for them; in areas of strength, +5 will be less than att+skill. BUT FUNNIER.

If you've ever wondered where the idea of Cheshire Cats comes from...

Ok, hear me out. A Lord of the Rings re-make, but with these two taking the One Ring to Mordor:

The void is eepy and wishes everyone would stop making so much noise, though!

(Cat pictures are what I want to see more of.)

Like this bit. If the CDC is forbidden to communicate with any regulatory body to the extent they can't even order lab glassware, they definitely cannot coordinate with the FDA to investigate anything.

We NEED that complicated, interconnected web that can work together.

Hey, how about the cull list of trigger words for pulling National Science Foundation grants? It's a long list, but let's start with these two words. If you're in a hurry, you could just call this "eugenics". Will you cover that medical news, too?

Do you believe us about the threat to disabled people yet? We're literally on a cull-list for research. I realize you might feel the Nazi comparison is wearing thin, but it just keeps fitting better and better.

I'm not sure whether to be congratulatory or concerned.
