Love that I live round the corner from this crazy, beautiful palace. It’s stunning at all times of day and night, but particularly lovely this morning.

ORIGINAL SINS - out now in paperback - is listed in the New York Times’ thrillers & mysteries - after being a pick of the week on publication last year!

Almost 6 weeks sober so will celebrate with a sparkling elderflower 🍎 ❤️ 🍎

Our work has been stolen & used for the profit of a mega corporation.

The creative industries in the UK alone are worth 125 billion a year - but their value in wellbeing, happiness, inspiration & education is far greater.

We will be a much poorer country without them #dothewritething

Back home from India & on a journey of another kind - time for a bit of a mind/body cleanse, so am coming off the booze for a while. But there’s so much else to enjoy in my fabulous, crazy little corner of the world, so although it’s a big, slightly intimidating change I’m here for it!

Getting prepped for my upcoming historical (hysterical?) tour of Kolkata & Assam with @radiomukhers.bsky.social - and already irritated as I have to get up and write, when I want to stay in bed and continue reading… this is brilliant!!

Our annual pilgrimage to Glow Wild at Wakehurst Place. As magical as ever. Cocoons of light, ghost figures in misty groves, trees that change seasons in a moment, a dragon in a sea of fire, roots sparkling down into dark dells, whisper of birds & water.

Lovely few days up north - catching up with author friends at Newcastle Noir & then Scotland for snowy walks & fireside cocktails

Slipped back into the 90s at a ‘Spirit of Zap’ reunion rave. Smiley balloons, banging techno-trance, sweaty dancing, glow sticks & whistles - all inside the perfect rave venue of the British Engineerium. Kicking!

Went a bit mad booking shows at Brighton Theatre Royal. ELEKTRA (with Stockard Channing!) THE SHARK IS BROKEN (behind the scenes of one of my favourite movies, JAWS, with Ian Shaw as his father, who played Quint), ROCKY HORROR (classic), THE LION, THE WITCH & THE WARDROBE (one of my favourite books)
