I was curious so I looked up the etymology and the process is integral to the origin of the word "art."

"skill as a result of learning or practice"
"WORK of art"

You're not learning, practicing, or working by using AI to spit out a stolen, cobbled-together Frankenstein of a picture.

Reflecting this National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on the tragedy of residential schools, remembering the children who never returned home, those who survived, and their families, and recognizing that the effects of that loss and trauma continue today.

Yesterday I posted that Canada needs to follow the example of other countries in reinventing our postal service, and the question came up: Does the union want this?

Yes! They do!

Please check out CUPW's plan. The site is brief, user-friendly, and their vision is inspiring.

Borrowed this from someone else's post and I'm posting with Alt text because it's too good not to share.

Did a search, and I *think* the artist is Jean-Michel Tixier. Want to give credit where it's due, if possible.

Disability accommodations are notoriously hard to qualify for though, and weekly deliveries aren't very convenient or timely for us housebound folks who tend to order many essential items online.

Already posted this then deleted because I realized the question I asked was actually answered in the article.

(Note to self: read more carefully!!!)

I'd wondered if expanding territory due to climate change will cause more hybrids, and that seems to be what they're inferring here.

If we're mutuals and you wonder why I never like pics you post without alt text, this is why.

My policy is that I try to only like posts with alt text and my account is set so I can't post without it.

I'm disabled and strongly feel blind/low vision users should be included here like everyone else.

So many bright, happy memories of Nelvana shows. What a shame they're (probably) no more.

Without downloading any new pics, where are you at mentally?

[CW: Ableism]

Just got blocked for asking someone not to use disability as an insult for fascists.

So how exactly are you fighting fascism if you're unwilling to confront your own prejudice? Or if you belittle, ignore, or silence vulnerable people whom fascism targets?🤨

Just realized my last repost didn't have alt text on the photo promoting Severe ME Day of Understanding and Remembrance, so here it is with alt text included:

No cheating. Your last saved celebrity photo is your therapist. Who is it?

LOL! Too perfect.😂

It's a fairly thorough overview of the science debunking the biopsychosocial view of ME/CFS (that I doubt you'll actually read), so I'll point out this section because it's one of my favourite bits and it applies directly to you.

A couple highlights, like a handy list outlining just some of the physiological abnormalities present in ME/CFS patients, proven by science-based studies. None of these have psychological causes--certainly not anxiety--despite your claim that ME/CFS is worsened by "fear of activity."

It's hot out! Share some movie or TV characters at the beach.

So this map showing where Americans think Iran is has apparently been going around, and look, I'm not convinced most Canadians would do much better, and I'm also not downplaying the seriousness of the situation, BUT I can't help but find it amusing that someone thinks Iran is in...

...Moncton.

Quote a record that you found in your parents' collection when you were young.

Listened to Buddy a lot in high school. No, I was not a normal 90s teen lol. I was also a big fan of the American Graffiti soundtrack.
