I saw someone online compare having to use Duo to get onto Canvas as having a bouncer at the DMV, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Like! What eager masses are you trying to stop from getting in, unauthorized, to my list of papers to grade?!

(but on a more serious note, now that I'm done - *sob* - I will take recommendations for the best secondary literature about Middlemarch, because I am for SURE never going to be done thinking about this book)

It would truly bring me great joy to know I had indirectly subjected students (in another field at a different institution!) to my enthusiasm for making ridiculous memes 😂

lol thank you. I feel Eliot really teed this one up for me with the line about how Casaubon didn't "call the future volumes a tomb; he called them the Key to all Mythologies" which made me laugh harder than I have in a while
